Hey Mr. DJ

Rich was great! We searched endlessly for a DJ-knowing that they can really set the tone of how your reception can go. We were very nervous that the DJ would play songs on our do not play list or be too hokey. However, once we found Rich we knew he was the right decision! He was great! He definitely knows how to keep the flow going. My dad had told me that most of his friends would leave after the cake was cut and they ALL stayed to the end-shouting "one more song" with all the rest of our friends. No one wanted to leave! He was great! I truly recommend him-but he books up fast so don't hesitate! We almost lost out on him because I was traveling before we could meet-luckily the couple that had booked him had to reschedule.

Absolutely the best disc jockey in existence. The owner himself, Rich Amooi, came to our wedding and accepted requests form all our guests. He was so friendly, and there wasn't a single glitch or mishap in our entire party thanks to his continuous music. Do yourself a favor and hire him now!

EXCEPTIONAL! PHENOMENAL! TERRIFIC! If I were allowed to give a 6/5 rating, I definitely would on all the categories. The owner himself, Rich Amooi, deserves a ∞/5! The guy was great; transitioning flawlessly from one song to the next, and readily accepting all our requests. Even towards the end of the party, nobody wanted to leave because he was so good! Please do yourself a favor and forget all other disc jockeys. Just go with this one; you'll NEVER regret it.

Rich is AWESOME! We picked our DJ last minute, and this man was the best choice we could have made. He knows his stuff, and he knows how to keep the party going. He listens to everything you tell him, takes notes, and even practices how to pronounce your name, and the name of your wedding party, so everything is literally to the "t". His wide knowledge of music will meet all of your needs. His relationship with the crowd is immediate, he has the ability to keep your attention, in many ways, first of all with the music he plays, secondly with the crowd by announcing and talking on the mic, third with the crowd while the music is playing, and lastly in individual conversation. By this I mean, he was in conversation with my brother-in-law while playing music I PROVIDED (none of his music skips or jumps, my CD had the issues, can't emphasize that enough) and during that conversation he was playing the CD I asked him to play, which skipped, and without being rude, he maintained the conversation and fixed the music problem before anyone even noticed!! (I asked my bridesmaid if she heard it and she said no). This man was on his game! The quality of service, friendly and fun attitude, plus the fact that he listens to my every desire, and played everything I asked for and more, it doesn't get better than that. Oh and he even got into contact with my venue on his own to coordinate what he needed! Wow, that's service. I've been to a few weddings where the DJ was just ok, and before that I never realized how much a DJ really means to your day. So, Ladies and Gentelman, if you want a stress free, fun, relaxing, entertaining occassion, Rich w/ Hey Mr. DJ is your guy.

We hired Rich for our wedding and we were so happy with him. First of all, Rich was one of the only DJs we interviewed who really wanted to know what we wanted for our wedding. He listened well and made lots of great suggestions. At the wedding he didn't miss any of our requested songs. He kept the crowd happy and dancing all night long. We highly recommend hiring Rich to be your DJ!

As "Hey Mr. DJ" does have "DJ" in it and he does fall into the category of DJs, Rich is much more than a DJ. He was the MC, he helps you plan out the timeline of the evening, keep everything on schedule and coordinates with the photographers and venue staff. Guests at our wedding have raved to us about how great the DJ was and that the music selection was amazing. One recommendation I would have is just give Rich a few "must play" and "don't play" if you have any, and they just give him preferred genres of music and let him feel out the crowd and determine what to play. That was our plan and it worked out beautifully. We are so happy with the service we received, how quickly he was able to respond and how he knew exactly what to do all times. If you are looking for a wedding DJ there is nobody else I would recommend, and if you are considering a band I recommend you consider Rich instead, he not only contributes to the music and dancing, but also helps the night flow smoothly as an MC.

We hired Rich as our wedding DJ after he did such a great job as my sister's wedding DJ the year prior. We didn't explore any other DJ's when we got engaged-- we knew we wanted Rich! Not only is he phenomenal at selecting the right music to fit the party mood, he also brings great energy and a terrific personality. He kept our guests laughing at the right times, especially during his emcee duties. He was also very responsive during our planning stages, which is very important to any busy/overwhelmed bride! 5 stars for sure!

Rich is one of the main reasons why all of our guests had SO much fun at our wedding reception. When my husband and I first met Rich we both had a good vibe - his professionalism and easy going personality put us at ease. We planned our wedding from NYC, so it was very important to us to hire someone we knew who could get the job done -and Rich exceeded our expectations. He got the party started right from the beginning of the reception and the dance floor was packed the entire night. He listened to our needs and made sure all of our requests were played throughout the evening. From Mexican cumbias to Tupac - Rich has it all and if doesn't own it he'll make to sure get it. And to top it all off, he was also our MC. This man does it all. We can't thank him enough. He truly loves his job and that enthusiasm is contangious.

I've been to a lot of weddings, and have also dealt with a few DJ's in my time, but Rich proved to be a diamond in the rough. Hands down, he is the best out there and is the complete package.If I was able to post 10 stars, I would. Rich Amooi, of Hey Mr. DJ Wedding Entertainment, is just THAT good. From the moment we first contacted Rich, until even after our wedding, Rich was nothing short of a true professional as an emcee and is just a fantastic person all around. He was open to negotiations, made planning a breeze, has a wealth of musical knowledge from all his years as an emcee and had a way to put me, an anxious bride, completely at ease. Searching for a DJ was difficult for my husband and I, as it seemed like most DJ's were all about a price tag and "selling" their service versus Rich, who was all about getting to know my husband and I so he could fine tune the music so it matched our, and our variety of guests, personalities and was proved completely trustworthy.On the day of the wedding, Rich had an eye for adjusting the music so no one wanted to leave the dance floor, which is exactly what we wanted, plus he was able to throw in all the songs we requested at just the right time. He was all about making sure we were on schedule according to the timeline I gave him - which was much appreciated as the day got carried away; i.e., when my 3 older brothers got a hold of the mic and decided to roast me for an extended period of time, Rich caught on quick and pulled the plug on them very humorously by playing the Jeopardy theme song. Everyone, including the "roasters," thought it was hysterical and was the perfect hint for my brothers to realize that their time was up.I believe Rich also emcees events outside of weddings, and if that's the case, then my husband and I will be using Rich again for any upcoming celebrations where dancing and a good party is needed, as we know Rich will deliver just that and then some.

We appreciate how responsive he was to our needs before and during the wedding reception. He played all of our requested songs and gave excellent advice. He did a good job in reading the audience and keeping a festive mood.We spent more than we would have liked, but we would not hesitate in recommending his services.

Rich Amooi (Mr. DJ) was the emcee, and DJ for our wedding at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose last August, 2008.Rich was very professional, reasonably priced, and was a pleasure to work with. He made song selection and planning very simple and straight-forward. During the ceremony he had the perfect combination of professionalism, and humor. Rich Amooi of Hey Mr DJ did an amazing job at our wedding reception at Testarossa Winery. Having a mixed crowd of mostly older adults and some younger ones, we were having a tough time picking music that our guest would enjoy, much less get up and dance to. Boy were we surprised when Rich somehow got them all to get up and dance. Our dance floor was overflowing all night! He made the evening so enjoyable that we were surprised when it was done too soon. Rich is fun to work with, very professional, really knows his stuff, and exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Rich!

Rich is great! He does such a fabulous job as an emcee and keeping everything flowing well. He is easy to work with and does all he can to keep you happy. I had a lot of songs that I wanted him to play at our wedding and he played them all. He also threw in some others and he times them out perfectly. We actually had a full dance floor though many of our guests were rather conservative and not really the dancing type. I had high expectations from Rich, as I had already seen him in action at my sister's wedding. He exceeded our expectations.

If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or party LOOK NO FURTHER! You have to hire RIch Amooi of heymrdj.com. I just had my wedding 2 weeks ago and he was AWESOME! He completely takes care of you from beginning to end. It felt like he was a wedding coordinator and DJ all in one. He got a sense before the wedding of the kind of music we wanted and he nailed it the night of the wedding! We also had some very specific requests that he also took care of. I had my father and brother in laws play music and he arranged it all so that it went smoothly during the reception. I'm serious if you are looking right now for a DJ. Stop looking email rich. You will not regret it. If I ever need a DJ again it will be him. hands down!

If you're looking for a professional DJ as well as a master of ceremonies (MC) at an affordable price, then this is your guy. Rich will tailor your event however you'd like or the best part is if you don't know what you want that's okay too because Rich will suggest things that have worked well in the past.For our wedding, we met with Rich a couple of months prior to the event. He tries to get a sense of what you're looking for - as wedding receptions can vary greatly. For ours, we wanted him to act as the MC and make it comfortable for people to get the party going on the dance floor. As it turned out, Rich exceeded our expectations at both. He has a calm, energetic delivery that makes people feel he is part of the family. I remember he was pretty funny too - got the crowd laughing and energized. As for the music selection, he really stayed within what we wanted. Our crowd was about 2/3 older and 1/3 younger people so wanted to have the music age appropriate. I wanted the older crowd to have a blast and not feel uncomfortable with too much current music. Rich mixed it beautifully - which I know for a fact because our officiant had his tie tied around his forehead by the end of the night!Since our weddding, I've been to about 8 other weddings and I can tell you first hand that Rich is way better than anyone else I've seen. He comes highly recommended in my book.

I don't think that you'll find a better DJ. Rich was an absolute pleasure to have involved in our wedding. He had all of the songs that we requested, played them appropriately, and eventually had EVERYONE dancing. He deserves his reputation as the best. Thanks again Rich!

We were so happy we chose Rich as the DJ for our wedding. He was a preferred provider by the San Jose Fairmont, and when they suggested him I realized his name was very familiar. I then remembered he was a favorite radio DJ of mine when I was in high school. We met Rich for the first time just after meeting with another DJ service. Rich was a million times more professional and classy. We knew that we would have no worries if we chose Rich just after that first meeting. He kept in close contact with us making sure he knew every detail of our reception. Rich is genuinely concerned with making sure you are completely satisfied.

Hey Mr. DJ provided the music for our wedding reception at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, on September 18, 2004. We had such a wonderful experience working with Rich! He was very responsive and professional. Rich played all of the 80s music we requested, and all of our guests' non-80s requests too!! What I will always remember from that night is the comments from our family and friends about Rich. They loved how he was part of the reception...laughing, smiling, talking, and having fun just like everyone else!We look forward to calling upon Hey Mr. DJ for any special occasion in the future.
