I cannot give Shyamala enough praise for putting together and performing such a wonderful ceremony for my husband and me! She is very kind, friendly, welcoming, and open-minded. My husband and I honestly did not know where to start with the ceremony. Shyamala provided us with plenty of sample wedding vows to use (we were going to write and say our own, but I got nervous at the end!) as well as sample poems and readings. She is incredibly flexible when it comes to customizing the ceremony. My husband and I wrote a poem together, which we used as the reading. So many of our guests raved about how moving the ceremony was! Thank you so much Shyamala!

Weddings are special occasions and to my new wife and I it was very important that the ceremonie was put together with a personal touch, and said in a professional manner. Shyamala met with us and asked us questions, the answers to which gave her the information she needed to write a perfect ceremonie. She sent us material to look over, and asked for input from us. Send us a draft and delivered with perfection.. We're more than 100% satisfied with her performance on every level and recommend her to anyone who is looking for an officient to marry them.

Shyamala put an incredible amount of thought and energy into our wedding ceremony to make it exceptionally personal, relevant, and memorable. During the planning phases she did a lot of research to propose ideas that would make our ceremony uniquely ours, and collaborated with us to make sure it was the experience we wanted to have. Thanks to Shyamala, she helped make our special day truly special.

Shyamala Littlefield did a superb job with our wedding ceremony. We could not have been more pleased. What was astonishing to both myself and the groom was that we were not able to provide her with very much information about what we wanted and only told her to keep it very simple. That isn't much to go on! And it was as if she read our minds (and hearts) and created a perfect expression of our intention of love and commitment. She said everything we would have wanted to say, with eloquence and grace, and nothing superfluous or 'canned'. We were deeply grateful and touched by our simple but profound ceremony.

Shayamala was marvelous, professional, warm and gracious. She made us feel comfortable as we wrote our feelings about each other and guided us in designing our wedding vows. Michael and I are not "writers" but Shyamala made us look like it! Our guests particularly commented on the sincerity and intimacy of the ceremony, thank you Shyamala!

My fiancé and I are to be married next month. We were having a serious communication issue with our officiant and did not think that we would have anyone to perform our wedding! We contacted Shyamala at the last possible minute and asked if she would be available. She was extremely helpful and understanding and very willing to work with us to find a solution. We have a strict timeline that was already set in place and she offered flexibility in her schedule to work with what we had. She was extremely professional, helpful, and most importantly, CALMING to a bride in distress. Though we were finally able to work things out with our original officiant and are no longer in need of her services (we hope!), we extend great thanks to her for her kindness.

I coudn't imagine a better officiant than Shyamala. Our wedding was made so beautiful with her effort in personalizing our ceremony and incorporating the sand ritual to make my children as much a part of our wedding. One of our college friends at the wedding was actually so inspired and said that she will definitely call on Shyamala when it's her time to tie the knot. Our parents, family and friends really loved how very personal and touching Shyamala had made our ceremony to be.

Shyamala was so much more than we expected in an Officiant! We instantly felt comfortable with her. She welcomed us into her home and we all had tea. She asked us questions about how we met, our story, and how our relationship evolved. She guided us through the process of making a custom ceremony and after meeting with us she was able to put something together that really expressed who we are. The ceremony was such a profound experience and several of our guests commented on how they had never been to a wedding that expressed who the couple really was as well as ours did. That meant a lot to us. She is sensitive to any secular, spiritual or religious background you may have and whether you desire to incorporate that into the ceremony or not. The most fantastic thing was how relaxed she made us feel. You really don't have to do any work with her, it's easy. You are in good hands with Shyamala.

My husband and I had the pleasure of Shyamala officiate our wedding ceremony in August 2011. Everything about how Shamala runs her business (really, she provides a service), her professionalism, fair pricing, custom or template options for vows and such are all top notch! You will not be disapointed by just getting in touch with her.

Shyamala was a fantastic shepherd to us as we prepared for our wedding day. In the midst of a wedding whose planning brought out the family crazy, she was centered and focused on the soul of our day: our relationship to each other and hopes for the future. My partner and I still talk about the things we learned about ourselves and each other during our consultation with her. She was flexible, non-pretentious, and kind to even the most strident of my female relatives. We recommend her whole-heartedly and with perfect faith.

Shyamala was our Officiant for our ceremony on May 28, 2011. Everyone commented on how there was a certain calmness and sweetness to our ceremony. We attribute a lot of the credit to how Shyamala guided us through the process. She is unbelievably kind, patient and knowledgeable. Shyamala made us feel instantly at ease. We live in Southern California but were having the wedding in Central Californina, Shyamala met with us via webcam. Here kindness will never be forgetten. We completely and wholeheartedly recommend her services. She is just plain Great!

Shyamala was very nice and professional. She really listened to us and asked great questions so she create a tailor-made ceromony for us. We didn't really know what we wanted but Shyamala was able to put together a terrific ceronomy that was just perfect and unique to us as a couple. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for an officiant. Shyamala is very flexible and provides great service both before and after your ceromony has been completed.

We were nervous about our wedding ceremony and needed some hand-holding. Shyamala made us feel like we weren't going into unchartered territory alone, she led us through it from the start. We are spiritual people but aren't necessarily brand loyal to any one religion and wanted someone who could conduct a ceremony that reflected that. We also wanted someone who could bring their own personality to the table without being a performer. Our first meeting with Shyamala came with the expectation that we would still need to meet with at least 2 other officiants the way we go about getting an estimate on new windows. After the first 20 minutes we'd both decided independently that Shyamala was for us. Her warmth and realness made it very clear this was nothing like shopping for windows! Here’s my attempt at a description of her: She is personable, real; expressive yet 100% genuine. Her spirit is welcoming and warm yet she was just as pragmatic in terms of how to carry things through and she is incredibly organized. She was in our corner from the start - before ever bringing up budget she was concerned more with our wants and needs. We spent the first hour just getting to know each other over tea and cookies at her house! Her opening address to our friends and family could not have been more perfect and she led us through the rest of the ceremony. She customized our ceremony to honor our deceased family members in a way that was honorable, loving and not the least bit dreary. We got many compliments on how that was done. My fear of crowds was dispelled - being able to look over at Shyamala calmed me. I get teary just thinking about it. We are not the most conventional people. Among our guests were musicians, magicians, burlesque performers, eccentrics of all kinds. We created an "event" to say the very least. YET, given all of that "dressing", the first thing any of the guests commented on and still do months later, is the ceremony, not all the funny wacky asides. About the ceremony we hear words like "genuine, touching, engrossing, perfect." Many of our guests said "I've been to so many weddings where I tend to tune out, but yours I was really right there..." We are forever grateful to Shyamala for the perfect wedding ceremony for us. -Annie and Daniel

Our first contact with Shyamala Littlefield was when she responded WITHIN HOURS of our posting our need for a wedding officiant on a "Find an Officiant" website. After speaking with her we really wanted to engage her, but decided on a simple courtroom ceremony so that relatives could be present. When those plans fell through (ten days before the event!) we again contacted Shyamala, who was available and willing to be our officiant. She was most helpful and compassionate, hearing our love story and offering some radiant insights. She helped us craft a beautiful and memorable wedding ceremony, weaving our poetry and writings with some of her own prayers and vows. She even cheerfully clambered down the steep stairs to the beach where the ceremony took place. Instead of a dry, cookie cutter civil ceremony we had the wedding of our dreams!

Shyamala, our wedding officiant, exceeded our expectations by miles. The only agenda she brings to the table is to give you a ceremony that reflects who you are and the experience you want your guests to have. We engaged her on short (~3 weeks notice) and went in with only the most nebulous idea of what we wanted. Shyamala asked good, insightful questions that brought us to an understanding of what we wanted. She is very free and creative with suggestions, and many of them were spot on, but she wasn't the least bit pushy about the ones that missed. She was totally open to whatever we wanted to do, while being tactful and respectful with guidance. She was a consummate professional at all times (I don't say this lightly - I think professionals are rare in any industry) , both in manner and performance of duty, while somehow also being one of the warmest and most sincere people I have ever met. Our wedding would not have been as deep, fun, smart, or sincere without her. I recommend her with no reservations.

Shyamala married us 9/19/10 and we were happy with choosing her to be a part of our special day. She is very personable and caring and amongst our stresses reminded us to talk to eachother in a more loving way (sometimes you need that!!). She helped create a special ceremony unique to us and made us feel comfortable being center of attention. Thank you Shyamala. -The Goforths

She was totally ‘on board’ with us, supportive and enthusiastic, making the ceremony a sincere and deeply rewarding experience.

When we were planning our wedding and the conversation came up about whom to officiate, there wasn’t even a discussion. Shyamala! Shyamala has an easeful style that is very personable and respectful. One on one or with a large group, Shyamala can create an intimate connection; she is at ease and puts you at ease – a much needed quality on the wedding day! Shyamala treats all people and regards all things with respect; she made us feel that our wedding ceremony was the most important event she had every done. The genuine care and love that Shyamala brings to all she does and imparts to all those she meets, made our day special indeed. She wants you to have the best, to be the best, and with Shyamala, you can expect the best. Michele & Thom Cayce Hurleyville, NY
