We had a simple wedding reception luncheon at the Blue Water Bistro. Leading up to the day, Amanda made it very easy to select menu items and organize the event. She was very open to table arrangement ideas and assisting in having things set the way we wanted it. On the day, even though we had our own table arrangements, they had their own beautiful flowers there too, just in case we didn't have anything- I thought that was incredibly thoughtful. The food was absolutely superb. Everyone LOVED the salmon with beurre blanc sauce- cooked to perfection. The tri-tip was equally delicious. Everyone was still talking about the food long after we had left. I have no complaints whatsoever- everything went so smoothly. The staff were attentive but very much behind the scenes. They worked hard to make our event run smoothly, even though it was a only small group of us.
I would recommend the Blue Water Bistro to anyone looking to hold an event there.

I just recently got married at the Bodega Harbor Yacht Club, and I have to say that I don't have a single complaint.
Why I loved it here:
- The venue is great, but is completely overshadowed by the beautiful panoramic view of Bodega Bay. We decided to not do the beach ceremony due to the inconsistency of Bodega Bay weather, and instead got married inside the Yacht Club in front of the panoramic windows. We had a small party of 50 people (but they could have easily fit more), and it worked out perfectly. Also, one of my favorite parts of the Yacht club is the lounge area in front of their gorgeous fireplace. It was a great place to relax and chat with our guests.
- Due to the 2 floors, we easily had the ceremony downstairs and dinner upstairs. While we ate upstairs, the downstairs was set up for the reception. Everything worked out so seamlessly. I never once saw staff running around moving chairs.
- The staff was unbelievably friendly, and felt like part of the family by the end of the night. The management is really helpful and extremely flexible with changes / additions.
- The food was fantastic. They set everything up and broke it all down so well without disturbing the guests that it almost seemed like the food just appeared. I know that may seem like hyperbole....but they were really fantastic.
- For everything that you receive, the overall cost is really competitive. What is really great, is that other than DJ & Photographers, the Yacht Club really can be a one stop shop for setting up your wedding. Also, they didn't tack on a bunch of silly extra charges.
I hope I am not overdoing this to the point that you think that I am just yanking your chain. My experience with the Yacht Club and their staff was better than I could have ever expected. They are patient and extremely friendly.
I am so grateful to the Bodega Bay Yacht Club staff and management for making my wedding unforgetable!
This probably goes without saying, but I highly recommend this venue!

The entire staff at Bodega Harbour Yacht Club was fabulous! Everyone answered any and all questions in a timely manor. The price was a great deal, the setting was so natural and elegant as is and needed little decorations. We were all very pleased with our day. The food was great and there was so much of it for another great price. My husband and I have nothing but great things to say about our day. It was a dream come true!

The service and location was absolutely perfect. Everything went off without a single hitch. I would highly recommend this location for any event or wedding. We could not be more pleased and have the memories to last a lifetime. All of the pictures we took, from the beach ceremony to the cake cutting facing the bay, were gorgeous.

My husband and I were married here on August 21 and it was an absolutely amazing wedding! The idea of a beach wedding really appealed to both of us and from the moment we first looked at the site and decided to book the venue we were very glad we did! The value for the money was fantastic and Amanda and Hayley were both really great to work with. They were both very flexible and accomodating to us and really worked hard to make it a special day for us. They pride themselves on making each couple's experience unique and special and I think they more than delivered on that promise! Thank you for making our wedding so amazing and memorable!

I am so glad we found the Bodega Harbour Yacht Club--I must say they made planning the wedding pretty easy. They set everything up according to my instructions, and when we had a spike in our guest list (thanks to family that insisted we HAD to invite an additional 40 people--and a few others that RSVP'ed for 6+ instead of themselves and a guest) Hayley & Amanda worked wonders to adjust things around so the wedding stayed within budget!
If I were to get married all over again--I would STILL choose to go to the Yacht Club--it was a beautiful, and about as perfect as any day could be!

We had our reception here in the Fall of 2010 and overall we had a wonderful experience and a day that went without a glitch. This place is a wonderful value, especially compared to many other sites in the area. The reception site has a unique layout with the dinner tables upstairs and the dance floor, bar and comfortable seating downstairs. I think the layout helped the night flow really well and encouraged everyone to be together on the dance floor or sitting on the couches by the fireplace. It made for a great party! Hayley and Amanda were very flexible and allowed us to add our own touches wherever we wanted. They gave us lots of time to come in a set up the morning of the event which was really helpful. They use their own in house catering which is a plus when you are already working with lots of other vendors. The food and wine was excellent, we had a plated dinner with steak/salmon/vegetarian and they even made vegan and kid meals for a few of our guests. Our package included a cake from 'Your Sweet Expectations' (we had cupcakes) and they might have been the best I've ever had.
My only complaint is that we had some difficulty communicating with them at times. It is almost impossible to speak to them on the phone. Lots of leaving messages and phone tag. Email is the best way but sometimes their responses were slow or they were confused about changes we had made to our dinner or bar choices, or number of attendees. This was stressful in the last few weeks prior to our wedding. However, I will again say that it all ended up working out just fine on the actual day of the event.

We chose this venue because we wanted to have a beach ceremony and an on-the-water reception. The Harbor Club provided both. The price includes tables, chairs, tablecloths, dishes, silver, etc...
First thing you should know is that there are not, nor have there ever been, any yachts in Bodega Bay. It is a fishing village, so don't expect to see anything "yacht-ish" there. In fact, we described it as "the Harbor Club" on our invitations so that the guests did not get the wrong idea.
Having said that, we really loved the site and had a very easy time working with each and every person there, save for the very rude and shockingly unprofessional Rosalie Lang (controller/accounts receivable). But for her lack of professionalism, I would have given very close to 5-stars across the board.
The dinner takes place upstairs and cocktails, dancing and cake downstairs. The ceiling upstairs is not that high, but our 6'8" best man had no troubles and we were sitting for dinner anyway. Other than that, I loved the location! There is a little "chill area" with sofas in front of a stone fireplace (gas) where older/younger/prego/bad-shoe-wearing guests can relax, yet still be part of the party. The dance floor was big enough for us and our 100 or so guests to get their groove on.
The beach ceremony site was lovely. They set up chairs and the wedding party walks in over a wooden staircase, giving a fun casual/formal feel to the event. Our guys wore tuxes and they did not look at all out-of-place, but one could go casual with this set-up also. The sand on Doran is fine, smooth and soft. The waves were beautiful and our guests couldn't get enough of the shore birds.
Amanda was our contact on the sales end and Hayley on the catering end. Both were superb and I would not hesitate to recommend either one to my best friends, and to you, dear reader. ;->
The food was far better than I expected. We had a plated meal (steak, salmon or vegi pasta). All three were wonderful, particularly the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. Many guests came up to me and raved about the food. I did not see any plates that werenÂ’t scraped clean. The app's all went, too, which made me very happy.
All in all, a wonderful experience .... Hayley, if you are reading this, please give your A/R woman a lesson is customer service! She is the obvious weak link in your otherwise unblemished chain of excellence.

The Bodega Harbour Yacht Club was actually the first place we had looked at. It was perfect, but I couldn't believe that we would find the perfect place on the first try. So we schduled other viewings, but we always had the yacht club in the back of our minds. It had so much character and had a wonderful bay veiw. My husband loved the place. Although, I liked it too, I was a little hesitant because of its rustic feel. In the end I was so happy that we booked them for our reception. Once it was all decorated precisely how we wanted it was very romantic. We lucked out with the weather that day. Which is very rare in Bodega. The sunset was beautiful and we could watch it from anywhere inside the building.
They also offer their catering services. I didn't want to be stuck with a place that using their food & beverage service was their policy, but I think its actually the way to do. It eliminated the hassle of having to interview caterers and beverage services. They had a great selection of appetizers & dinner plates. We received lots of compliments of the food after the wedding.
Haley Williams is the event coordinator at the Yacht Club and she was great to work with on the food and pricing. She picked a menu for us that was affordable and tasty!

There was a change of staff last year and we had two wedding coordinators at the Yacht Club. They were both disorganized, unfriendly, and unhelpful. Both were slow to respond to questions and concerns (slow = often took weeks to reply emails). We weren't able to do any taste-testing beforehand either.
On the day of the wedding, however, the catering staff was AWESOME. If it weren't for them, I would give a one-star rating for all of the above categories.
