My sales consultant was very nice to me, I will give her that. But now that I look back on it, I felt like I was tricked the day I bought my dress. I bought my dress during a trunk show to get 10% discount. They did not have my size in the sample dress I wanted so was told that if I put 50% down they can order the dress in a bigger size and if I don't like it when it comes in, I can put my deposit toward a new dress. She took my measurements, and even though I knew I should get a smaller size, she kept pushing a big size since it was in stock and she kept saying she did not want me to stress too much trying to fit into a smaller dress. So I just went with it. when the dress came in, I felt it was too big and wanted a smaller size. She said it fit right and I could not order another dress, even though I was told before that if I did not like it, I can order another dress. At this point I felt stuck since I did not want to forfeit my deposit. Their service after you purchase the dress goes downhill as well since they already have your money. they don't return phone calls and I had to keep calling back to follow up on my questions. I ended up taking the rest of my business elsewhere after picking up my dress. Bridesmaids dresses were purchased at a different bridal store for a lot less. And I was able to find an alterations place that charged half the price they did. Which was good since I ended up dropping 2 dress sizes from when the dress was purchased.

They have a video camera so that people that are remote and wish to review the dress could participate. They were also very flexible in meeting the needs of the bride.P.S. My wife looked amazing.

I went to four bridal stores and tried on 20 dresses before finding the one. I don't remember the name of the associate that helped me, but she is the manager and the buyer for the store. I say definitely go to her and nobody else! Don't get me wrong. The rest of the staff seems really nice, but she just gave me the confidence to trust in her. She knows what she is doing. She pulled dresses for me that I would have not thought about for myself. She the first to put a smile on my face. I was so disappointed and was ready to give up while I headed to my last stop of the day, Bay Area Bridal. I didn't think I would ever find a dress. She worked her magic and I walked away smiling. My bridesmaids knew it too. They said I didn't have a smile on my face all day until then.

The store is nothing special. In fact, it is a little run down and could use a face-lift. I decided to go here due to the convenient location. My consultant was Nikki and she was great. She listened to what I wanted in a dress and delivered. The issues we had were when we ordered. Nikki recommended ordering my dress in a size smaller than my largest measurement and my Mom and I didn't notice this. This is our fault for not looking more closely at the size chart but we trusted Nikki. When the dress arrived it was too small in the hips and created some concern as to how it was going to work. After meeting with the seamstress Marina (who is absolutely AMAZING) it worked out fine. The real issues were with my Mom's dress. She ordered it with plenty of time but it took forever to ship, leading us to question when they put the order in. She also ordered extra fabric to make a jacket and the fabric didn't arrive with the dress. They sugar coated the issues and said everything would be fine when they forgot to order the fabric we already paid for! They never apologized for the mistake or acknowledged it. They "rush" delivered the fabric and it arrived a week before the wedding. The main issue I had with the store is the disorganization. Sandy, the owner, is a wonderful person but she cannot keep track of anything. We went in many times to check on their new sample dresses Sandy would claim to have arrived and there wouldn't be anything new. She is very nice and clearly has a lot of inventory but organization/management doesn't appear to be her strong suit. I would not have used Bay Area Bridal if it were not for its convenient location...that sums it up.

This review is more for my consultant Jessica than anything else. I came to Bay Area Bridal last Saturday (7/30/10) to go wedding dress shopping for the first time (and last time since I found THE ONE!!!). Jessica was my consultant and she was absolutely AMAZING. She had us go through some binders and pick out styles we liked. She asked what my budget was and when I told her she took the ones that were out of my price range out of my pile and then asked me to pick to top 5 I liked. She pulled all the dresses for me and helped me try them on and model them for my Mom and FMIL. The entire time she was extremely helpful and very low-key. She did not push me to buy any particular dress that was more expensive than another. In fact the first dress I tried on was one I insisted I try on first because it was a dress I had LOVED for a very long time. But when I tried it on I was completely disappointed. The dress that ended up being THE ONE was about $1000 less and Jessica never pushed me to buy the one that was $1000 more. She completely supported me during the entire process and made my experience so much fun! Thank you Jessica!!!

I hate shopping in general so I thought wedding dress shopping was going to be really awful, but it ended up going really well. I went to Bay Area Bridal because it was near my house, and made an appointment for a Saturday. I went with my mom and sister, and Denise was our consultant. She was really great. She asked me what my preferences were, but then also picked out a bunch of dresses outside of those preferences because she thought they would look good. I had requested no strapless dresses and no sparkles, but Denise brought out a strapless dress with sparkles for me to try on anyway because it was small enough to actually sort of fit, and at the end of 2 hours both my mom and sister agreed that it was by far the best. Go figure. I wasn't convinced, but when I went back to the store a month later with my cousin, Denise was there again and she remembered me and found that same dress. After my cousin agreed that it was the best, I went ahead and bought it. The manager came out to double-check Denise's measurements, and they gave me good advice on which size to pick. The dress took exactly 3 months to come and I went with the Bay Area Bridal tailor for alterations, which was pretty pricey, and she didn't do a very good job with the bust at first, but after a second round of alterations everything ended up being fine. So, all in all, a success! And I was very happy with the price I paid.

I went with my sisters to Bay Area Bridals on a whim with no appointment and no dress in mind. I left with a great deal on a beautiful dress! There happened to be a cancellation exactly at the time we arrived and asked if there was anything open. The consultant who helped me was friendly and patient. She even let me try on dresses for an extra hour since she had no appointment scheduled. She wasn't great at reading what styles I liked, but I ended up searching the racks and finding a discontinued sample dress. It ended up being half off the original, plus the consultant took off an extra $100. I think she knew I was a bargain shopper because I couldn't resist the deal and got it that day! Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The dresses were also beautiful and completely in my price range ($2k max). There are so many dresses to choose from - I'm happy I found a great quality dress for much less than I wanted to spend!

The young lady (forgot her name) that helped me find the perfect dress was very friendly and helpful. She was very patient and enthusiastically assisted me in getting in and out of the dresses. Given my budget, she recommended some good dresses for me. My dress came in earlier than expected. I requested for a swatch of my dress and although the manufacturer does not normally provide swatches, they got me a fabric sample of one that matches it most closely.

Bay Area Bridal has a GREAT selection of wedding dresses for any budget. I was pleasantly surprised, after having stopped at 3 other bridal shops. You don't get the snooty attitude. They make you feel genuinely special and provide great recommendations if you're not completely sure of what you're looking for.The shop gets very busy on the weekends, so I recommend booking appointments during the weekdays to get the best possible experience.

Getting engaged was one of the best feelings ever...however wedding planning has its up and downs. The next on my list was finding my "centerpiece"...the DRESS! The first store I went to was beautiful, but I was quick to learn that wedding dresses run about 1-2 sizes smaller than your actual size (like brides really want to feel bigger than they really are) and most of their samples were a little snug...Also, Im the type of person that needs to try it on and have the full effect before I can determine whether I'd purchase it or not...and most certainly with my wedding dress since its not just any dress...its THE dress...so ive been pretty discouraged.I went to Bay Area Bridal last December, and it was like the third or fourth store that I went to. At first I was a little hesitant because I didnt think I would be able to fit their samples and the section of dresses in my size, didn't look too appealing. My consulatant was still on lunch, so I was looking around for ideas. The first girl came up to me and asked me if i knew what I was looking for, so she could pull some dresses. So I explained what I had in mind. About a minute later, a second asscociate asked me the same question, so I went through the whole speil again. I never saw them after that though. A few minutes after the second girl, another lady came up to me and introduced herself as Jessica, my consulatant...She apologized for having me wait and asked me the same question. I was a little irritated at that point having to explaining myself for the third time, but it proved to be worth it because Jessica was great! Her first pick had some of the qualities that I wanted, but she told me to tell her what I liked and didnt like, and we could go from there. I didnt really have a clear picture of what I wanted, but I did see a sample dress that I liked...and of course didnt fit me. But she grabbed a dress in my size from the same designer, with a similar shape, so I could get an idea about the fit. It was pretty stunning, but I wanted to try on some more. The next proved even better. It really shaped me well, and all of the details were perfect.I had a hard time deciding between the two, but Jessica offered a lot of great input, and in the end, with the help of her and my girls, I said "YES TO THE DRESS!" I really wasn't expecting to have found a dress, but it flattered my figure, the details were perfect and it was about half what I intended to spend. Also, because they were having a trunk show the next weekend for that designer, and the dresses already arrived, they offered another 15% off!My five stars totally go to Jessica. She was so great to work with. We had some questions about the variences of sizes, but she already pulled some dresses for us compare the differences. She's a great listener, totally knew her stuff, and was always one step ahead of the game. Also, everytime I went back for a fitting, she remembered me and came over to say hi. THANK YOU JESSICA for making this as painless as possible and helping me find "the ONE"!!!!

I loved my experience with Bay Area Bridal! I worked with Vanessa who was so sweet and helpful and made my wedding dress shopping experience totally enjoyable. I went for a first session, found a couple of dresses I liked, and then went in for a second one to see the dresses I'd picked plus try on a few more. During my second appointment Vanessa was double booked and they tried to put me with another consultant, but Vanessa sent the other appointment with the other girl and came and helped me, since she'd been helping me the week prior. She couldn't have been more helpful and sincere and I really enjoyed working with her.Ordered my dress from BAB and was pleasantly surprised when it came in a month and a half early. Alterations and everything were done by the date they said the dress would arrive, which made me a happy bride. Overall really pleasant experience with BAB!

This place was kind of a headache, but the girls got the work done. I was able to get both my and the bridesmaids gowns there. I've been receiving complains for both gown especially mine. The price was reasonable, but don't get your dress altered there. The contract worker there makes up her own prices and they pretty high. Instead I went to Elegant Tailoring & Bridal in Milpitas, CA.

am so thrilled that Bay Area Bridal was my first stop in the search for the perfect wedding dress. It is lovely and the experience was everything I dreamed it would be. There is a large pedestal and lots of cushy chairs for family or friends joining you. Nikki helped me and she is fantastic!! She is so friendly and helpful. She also REALLY knows her stuff! I was impressed that she asked about the wedding and genuinely showed interest in me. I showed her styles of dresses that I liked and the first dress she brought me turned out to be "the one." She has a really good eye for what will look good on your body. I tried on many more dresses there and then many more at a few different stores before returning to buy. I also purchased my veil and tiara as well as bridesmaid dresses here because you receive a great discount when you purchase your gown here. I highly recommend it!!

I initially purchased the floor sample of my wedding gown in a size 14 (I'm a size 0) for $200 off the ticketed price. My seamstress told me that she would have to remake the whole dress to downsize so it's worth it to purchase the dress new in the smallest size possible. Luckily the owner of Bay Area Bridal let me exchange the dress. I was really happy about that. But then I got sweet-talked by a very persuasive Russian jeweler into purchasing $280 worth of jewelry that I could have easily bought for a quarter of the price from another vendor. I just hadn't done my research beforehand. After having extreme buyer's remorse, I went back to the store a couple hours later to say that I didn't want the jewelry anymore. The jewelry is handmade and takes about 3 weeks to be ready. The owner wouldn't return my money but gave me store credit. I did have a ballgown event coming up so I looked around for a dress that I could use up with the store credit. I found one dress that was beat up pretty bad (the seam was torn along the zipper, and the straps were torn and uneven) and thought I could use my 10% discount (all purchases are 10% off if you buy your wedding dress here), but the Asian salesclerk said that the 10% doesn't apply to store credit, even though the dress was torn. Really?Anyways, just beware. This store doesn't allow for any returns whatsoever. You only get store credit, and you can't use any discounts or promotions if you're paying with store credit, even if you purchased a $800 dress here.

I was able to buy a floor sample (that looked barely used) on sale here! They had a large selection of dresses at a wide range of prices, with nothing terribly outrageous. I actually never went to a high-end dress place so can't tell how the service compares, but I found them to be very helpful and the dress I ended up getting was one that the girl helping me pulled from seeing the other styles I liked!

This review is about a year and a half late but here it is. I bought my wedding dress here and it was fantastic! I had gone to other stores already and knew what I was looking for so I gave my consultant Cristina my parameters and she went around and picked dresses that fit what I was looking for and others that she thought I should try on. Cristina was a huge help and went above and beyond helping me get in and out of dresses, looking for a matching veil and suggesting styles that I hadn't even thought of. She knew what would fit my body and I completely trusted what she brought in for me to try on. I went shopping with my sister and by that time, we had seen and tried on a lot of dresses so we were pretty calm and not all that excited about trying more on. After a couple that were just ok, I came out with one where my sister just plainly looked up from the magazine she was looking at and said "Wow." That's the one everyone liked. Even the other ladies in the store said the dress was perfect. I didn't buy my dress the same day but I came back with my BFF and when I saw her tears, it cemented that I needed to have this dress. I would call to get updates and Nikki (consultant or supervisor?) was super friendly and helpful in getting me all the information and following up with me.When my dress came in, I was able to try it on again to make sure it fit well and was the petite size I ordered. They suggested alteration places but I had my own tailor so I just paid the remaining balance and walked out with my huge white garment bag and my gorgeous dress. I have already recommended this place to friends and highly recommend Cristina. She's fashionable, personable and listens very well to what you want.
